In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19), almost everyone has been sanitizing their hands more often. While this is good practice, sanitizers can ruin the skin on your hands in the long run due to the alcohol in it.
Alcohol dries up the skin, stripping away the skin’s natural oils which cause dehydrated cells. This damages the skin and leaves it irritated, chapped and painful.
This disrupts the natural barrier over time and reduces the skin’s ability to protect itself. Dry and damaged skin will accelerate the appearance of ageing and can bed bacteria and infections, which defeats the purpose of sanitizing.
Sanitizing does get rid of bacteria but it is important to moisturize after so the skin will not dry up and get damaged. Moisturizing your hands with creams, lotions or oils will seal in the moisture and replenish the skin.
Hand creams like HYSSES’ Ginger Peppermint and Neroli Lemongrass Hand Creams are fast-absorbing, easy to apply and lightweight. But the best thing about it is that it contains healing and moisturizing properties!
